Truma Water Heater: “E211H / E212H”
warning RV water heater fault codes
What it means
Gas-supply / combustion fault group on the Combi: the burner could not run because gas is unavailable or combustion air/exhaust is blocked. The grouped codes E121H, E122H, E202H, E211H and E212H all point to the same family of causes — closed gas valve, empty or iced-up regulator, too much butane, a sealed exhaust/air path, or a defective gas-pressure regulator.
Most likely causes
- Propane cylinder empty or the cylinder/quick-acting valve is closed most likely
- Combustion air intake or exhaust cowl blocked by ice, slush, snow or leaves common
- Gas-pressure regulator iced up in cold weather common
- High butane content in cold weather (butane will not vaporize below ~10 C) less common
- Defective gas-pressure regulation system rare
Safe checks you can do yourself
- Verify the propane cylinder is not empty and the cylinder valve plus any quick-acting valve are fully open.
- Inspect the exterior cowl and exhaust/air openings and clear any ice, snow or debris.
- In cold weather, confirm you are using propane (not a high-butane mix) and consider a regulator heater (EisEx).
- Confirm other propane appliances (stove) light, to prove gas is actually reaching the coach.
How to reset / clear E211H / E212H
- Correct the gas/airflow cause first (open valve, clear cowl, etc.).
- Switch the heater off at the CP plus panel and back on to attempt a fresh ignition.
- If it has locked out after repeated attempts, allow a short wait before retrying.
When to call a technician
Gas is confirmed available and the cowl is clear but the code returns, suggesting a faulty regulator, gas valve or electronics — refer to Truma Service.
