EPEVER Solar Charge Controller: “Load blinking — overload”
warning RV solar charge controller error codes
What it means
The load indicator blinking (load off) signals a load overload: connected load current exceeded about 1.05x the controller's rated load current, so the output was switched off after a time delay.
Most likely causes
- Too many devices or too high a current draw on the load terminals most likely
- A device with a high inrush/startup surge tripping the overload common
- Partial short or degraded wiring raising current draw less common
Safe checks you can do yourself
- Add up the current of all devices on the load terminals and compare to the controller's rated load current
- Remove some loads or move high-draw devices to a direct, separately-fused battery connection
- Check for surge-heavy devices (motors, pumps) that exceed the rating at startup
How to reset / clear Load blinking — overload
- Reduce the connected load below the rated current
- The output auto-retries five times (delays of about 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 s); to restart recovery, press the Load button, restart the controller, or wait for a night-to-day transition (night longer than ~3 hours)
When to call a technician
If overload trips with loads clearly under the rating, have the controller and wiring checked.
