Gas failure

Alde Furnace: “Gas failure”

warning RV furnace fault codes

Safety This is an LPG appliance. If you smell gas, shut off the cylinder immediately, do not operate switches or create sparks, and ventilate the area. Do not repeatedly retry ignition with the gas on, as unburned LPG can accumulate. Have any suspected gas leak checked by a qualified gas technician.

What it means

The boiler tried to ignite the LPG burner but did not establish a flame, or it ran out of gas. The control panel reports that gas heating could not start.

Most likely causes

  1. LPG cylinder empty or shut off most likely
  2. Gas isolation valve closed, or regulator/valve frozen in cold weather common
  3. Wrong gas type or a regulator fault less common
  4. Ignition or gas valve fault in the boiler less common

Safe checks you can do yourself

How to reset / clear Gas failure

  1. Restore the gas supply (open valves, swap to a full propane bottle)
  2. Reset from the panel: disconnect the panel from the boiler, remove 230V, and disconnect 12V from the boiler
  3. Reconnect power and restart the boiler on gas

When to call a technician

If the gas supply is confirmed good and valves are open but the boiler still will not ignite on gas, or if you suspect a gas leak, regulator fault or ignition fault, contact an Alde dealer or qualified gas technician.
