Xantrex Inverter / Charger: “E01”
warning RV inverter fault codes
What it means
The battery voltage has fallen low enough that the inverter is about to shut down to avoid over-discharging the battery. After the low-battery shutdown delay, inverter output stops.
Most likely causes
- Battery bank is discharged or near empty most likely
- Undersized or loose DC cabling causing voltage drop under load common
- Failing or aged battery that cannot hold voltage under load common
- Corroded or poor DC terminal connections less common
Safe checks you can do yourself
- Check the battery state of charge and recharge with shore power or generator
- Inspect DC cable connections at the battery and inverter for tightness and corrosion
- Confirm DC cable gauge is adequate for the cable run length
- Reduce DC loads while the battery recharges
How to reset / clear E01
- Recharge the battery above the low-voltage threshold
- Connect qualifying shore or generator AC power, or use the front-panel power button to clear the active alarm
- The unit resumes inverting once battery voltage recovers
When to call a technician
If the battery is fully charged and properly cabled but E01 keeps appearing, or if the battery will no longer hold a charge, have the battery and DC system inspected by a qualified technician.
