What it means
Overvoltage. The supply has gone above the range the electronics accept and the unit has protected itself. On a 12 V RV system this is almost always something charging rather than something failing: a converter or DC-DC charger in a high-output stage, an alternator, or a boost/equalise charge applied with the fridge still connected.
Most likely causes

Safe checks you can do yourself
- Measure at the terminal block while the suspected source is running — the reading only matters at the moment of charging, so measure with the engine running, shore power connected or the sun on the panels.
- Note when it happens. Only while driving points at the alternator or DC-DC charger; only on shore power points at the converter; only in bright sun points at the solar controller.
- Check the charge profile selected on the converter or charger against the battery actually fitted, especially after a lithium conversion.
- Disconnect the fridge before using a quick or boost charger on the battery, and let the rail settle before reconnecting.
How to reset / clear Indicator light 5 flashing
- Remove or correct the over-voltage source before anything else.
- Pull the refrigerator fuse from the power center, leave it out for 10 minutes, then reinstall it and check the panel.
- If the indication returns as soon as charging starts again, the charging source is still out of range — the fridge is reporting correctly.

The measured supply stays inside a normal charging range at the fridge but the overvoltage indication keeps returning, or a charging source cannot be brought back into range.
Accuracy notes
Lippert's own service manual describes the panel two different ways, and they do not line up. The "Fault Display" table on page 8 assigns meanings to single lights — light 1 refrigerator sensor, 2 ambient sensor, 3 defrost sensor, 4 undervoltage, 5 overvoltage, and lights 1 and 3 together for a fan failure. The service section on pages 19-22 instead reads pairs: lights 1 and 2 for the refrigerator temp sensor in the wind channel, 2 and 3 for the defrost sensor, 3 and 4 for the freezer fan, and all lights for an under/over voltage event. Both readings are reproduced on this site because both are in the manufacturer's document; which one your panel follows appears to depend on the board and firmware revision. Count carefully how many lights are flashing before ordering a part — the pair readings come with concrete component checks, so they are the more useful place to start when two lights are flashing.
